AU students resorting to ragging to lose seats

VISAKHAPATNAM: ISSUING a stern warning to the students against ragging, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao said that the students would lose their seats if found to be involved in any ragging activities on the campus.

Speaking at an anti-ragging meeting held on Wednesday, he said:”Strict measures will be taken against students who resort to ragging and if found guilty, they will lose their seats.”

Nageswara Rao added that the anti-ragging team will conduct frequent checks on the hostels and departments.

On the occasion, as many as 100 students took out a rally giving anti-ragging slogans and resolved to make the campus ragging-free.

Participating in the meeting District Judge V Jaya Surya said that seniors must be aware of the strict punishments awarded for ragging.

AS Khan, joint commissioner of police, advised students to keep away from situations that can disturb their careers.
