Naidu unclear on special status and is diluting the issue, alleges Jagan

NELLORE: YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is not clear on how the special status category will be accorded to Andhra Pradesh and instead was trying to dilute the issue for his political survival.

The YSRCP chief, who was in Nellore to participate in an interactive programme ’Yuva Bheri‘ with students here on Thursday, alleged that if Chandrababu Naidu pressured the Central government over the issue of special status, he will be arrested by CBI very next minute on the charges of purchasing MLAs during the last MLC elections.

He said that the Centre, which knew well about Naidu’s weaknesses is playing with the lives of people of Andhra Pradesh. Jagan added that there will be no alternative for people but to launch an agitation to pressurise the Centre as the State government expressed inability over achieving the special status. He motivated the public over benefits like industries, employment etc.

Replying to a question by a student on the necessisity for an agitation as the bifurcation of State was already complete, Jagan said that people have got every right to question the government over the issue as per the Bifurcation Act.

He explained that there will be no alternative for people but to launch an agitation to achieve special status as the state government is shedding crocodile tears and there is unethical agreement between the two governments for diluting the issue. YSRCP will support any party which will provide special status to AP.
