RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Hundreds of lawyers boycotted courts in East Godavari district on Friday, demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh. Wearing black badges, the advocates organised protests at the courts.
AP Bar Association member Mupalla Subba Rao recalled that though the advocates had abstained from duties for 208 days demanding ‘Samaikyandhra’, the then UPA government divided the state by not considering the sentiments of the people of Seemandhra region.
The political parties would invite the wrath of the people if they fail to obtain special status for the state, he added.
