Advance booking: 3.5 lakh bottles of Krishna water ordered across Andhra

More than 3.5 lakh bottles of holy water of Krishna river have been booked in advance in Post Offices across the State.

VISAKHAPATNAM: More than 3.5 lakh bottles of holy water of Krishna river have been booked in advance in Post Offices across the State, ahead of the Pushkarams.

Speaking to the Express, senior superintendent of Post Offices (Visakhapatnam division), KVLN  Murty said: “Advance bookings for the holy water started on July 26. At present, the official date for the bookings has expried, but we will be sending a report to Vijayawada division on Tuesday to request an extension on last date till Monday in the Head Post Offices.”

“Bottles will be available at post offices from Aug 13 between 10 am to 5 pm. Each bottle costs `30 which will contain 500 ml of the holy water and they will be sold on first-come-first-serve basis. Entire Vizag  region was given a target of 1,00,000  bottle sales and booking has crossed 80,000 mark by last date.” he said.

Online bookings are also available for both domestic and international devotees and charges will vary according to cost of speed post.Vizag division was given a sale target of 6,740 bottles and by the last date on Aug 5, it has successfully registered 5,600 bookings.
