NDRF gears up for Krishna river fete

VIJAYAWADA: To tackle situations at the time of any emergency, including untoward incidents during Krishna Pushkarams, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 10th battalion gave a demonstration of life saving methods at Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam of Kanaka Durga temple here on Monday.

Well-trained and equipped personnel from the elite NDRF 10th Battalion, showed how to handle the injured and rendering timely medical aid during emergency. Demonstrations on First Aid technique and safe evacuation techniques Cardiopulmonary Respiration (CPR) were done. NDRF assistant commandant J Senthil Kumar, inspectors Santosh Kumar and Vipin Singh  witnessed the demonstration.

Speaking on the occasion, J Senthil Kumar stressed the need to ensure hassle-free darshan of Goddess Kanakadurga for the pilgrims visiting the temple during the Krishna Pushkarams. He advised the temple staff to educate the pilgrims on the steps to be taken to save the life of their dependents during the emergency. Later, the NDRF personnel educated the temple security staff on how to rescue the pilgrims in case of fire mishap, if any, in future.
