CM unfurls 100 ft flag at Gannavaram Airport

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday unfurled a 100-foot national flag arranged by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)at the new terminal building under construction at Gannavaram airport on the occasion of Independence Day.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that a mere look at the tricolour would make everyone proud with the patriotic spirit and congratulated the CAA for arranging for the flag.  He said officials concerned have assured him that the new terminal building at the airport would be ready by November.

On the occasion, he expressed his desire to have an international airport at Vijayawada with direct-flight connectivity saving the necessity of routing flights through Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai for international destinations.

Minister for Water Resources, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, MPs  Kesineni  Srinivas and Konakalla Narayana, Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan, DGP N Sambasiva Rao, Commissioner of Police D Gautam Sawang, District Collector Babu A and others were present.
