Governor takes a holy dip in Krishna

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan took a holy dip in Krishna river at Punnami Ghat here on Wednesday morning.

Narasimhan and his wife stood in waist-deep water in the river Krishna and recited sankalpam before taking a dip. The couple took a dip three times as mandated by rituals. The district administration made special arrangements for the visiting VVIPs. The officials welcomed them at the ghat.

Later, the Governor along with his wife offered special prayers at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, atop the Indrakeeladri Hill. Temple Executive Officer A Surya Kumari and priests offered traditional welcome with ‘Poornakumbham’ to him. After having darshan of the goddess, Narasimhan was blessed by the temple priests. Silk vastram, photo of Goddess Kanaka Durga and laddu prasadam were presented to the Governor.

Narasimhan lauded the foolproof arrangements made by the State Government for the convenience of Krishna pushkaram pilgrims.
