VISAKHAPATNAM: Tinytots as the Young Lord Krishnas and Radhikas stole the show at the Utlotsavam (breaking the traditional urn) celebrated to mark Janmashtami, organised by the ISKON at Sagarnagar in city on Thursday.

While the elders enjoyed programmes like bhajans, dance competitions, and drama on Lord Sri Krishna staged by the famous Surabhi group from Hyderabad, it is the children in Lord Krishna’s attire adorning a peacock feather on heads who added gaiety to the programmes on the first days of the 3-day festival.

The celebrations also included special harati and 108 deepa haarthi were also performed. The festival will conclude on Friday with Nandotsavam, a discourse on Krishna Leela and Mayabazaar.

The prizes for the inter-school events conducted on August 21 will be distributed to the children who took part in painting, pot making, Gita recitation and other competitions.

Students of Ravindra Bharathi school, Delhi Public school and Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar too celebrated the festival on their campuses with much pomp and gaiety.

Hare Krishna Movement had celebrated this auspicious day at Alwardas grounds, MVP Colony.
