GUNTUR:  Two girls died and another youth was injured in a motorcycle mishap at Venkupalem in Vinukonda mandal on Saturday. According to police, Banavath Bharanibai and Merajot Bharathibai were studying SSC and ninth class at Bollapalli model school. 


The two girls who hailed from Nehru Nagar Thanda in Bollapalli mandal, left for their native village on the motorcycle of their brother Mantru Naik for Christmas vacation. 


Their bike rammed into a tractor at Venkupalem. All the three fell down on the road. Bharanibai and Bharathibai who sustained severe head injuries in the fall, died on the spot. 
The injured Naik was shifted to hospital. The police visited the spot and sent the bodies to Vinukonda hospital for autopsy. Vinukonda police registered a case. 


On hearing the news of accident, a large number of residents of Nehru Nagar Thanda visited the hospital. Heart rending scenes were witnessed at the hospital as the two young girls lost their lives in the mishap while they were going to celebrate the festival with their family members.
Boy fatally knocked down by car; fatal fall for woman 


Eluru: A boy and a woman died in separate incidents in West Godavari district on Saturday.


According to police, Pulaparti Manikantha Sai Koushik (10), a 5th class sudent of Annavarappadu in Peravali mandal, along with his parents Atchanna and Durga Devi, went to Venkateswara temple in the village. On their way back home from the temple, Koushik was fatally knocked down by a speeding car from Tanuku while he was crossing the road. Peravali police reached the spot and shifted the body to Tanuku government hospital for postmortem.


In another incident, Uppalapati Soujanya (27) died when she accidentally fell from the third floor of her apartment at Venkatarayapuram in Tanuku mandal this morning. According to police, Soujanya’s husband Daniel died in an accident recently. She was working as a teacher in a private school. 


The mishap occurred while she was hanging clothes on a wire in the corridor after washing. The body was sent to Tanuku government hospital for postmortem. A case was registered.
