'Proper guidance a must for students'

VIJAYAWADA: “Students are usually well aware of the dos and don’ts. All they need is proper guidance to take the right career,” opined Akella Raghavendra, motivational speaker and trainer for IAS aspirants. He was delivering a talk on ‘Career Planning and Goal Setting’ at PB Siddhartha College here on Friday.

The motivational talk was held for the first year students of the college to offer career counselling and also guide them in cracking competitive examinations. Raghavendra stressed the role of parents and teachers in shaping a student’s career. He also shed light on the behavioural attitudes of students, role of ‘discipline’ and ‘responsibility’ in achieving success in one’s life.

Economics department head M Ramesh felt that communication skills were important to get a good placement. College alumni president Y Venketeswarao informed that around 150 students from the college joined the public services. Principal MVN Padmarao and placement officer K Sridhar were present.
