HYDERABAD: A 27-year-old doctor, working in a private hospital, was arrested by Moghulpura police for allegedly drugging and molesting a woman patient at the hospital. The accused D Venkatesh is working in Alpha Hospital at Moghulpura. On Monday, the victim, a 27-year-old woman from Talabkatta, visited the hospital for consultation.
The woman had undergone a surgery and was diagnosed with infection in uterus and was suffering from post surgical pain. On Monday night, she suffered severe pain and visited the hospital. Dr Venkatesh, who had treated her, allegedly drugged and molested her. Mohulpura inspector A Devender said the victim stated that the doctor made her lie on the table and injected a drug that made her unconscious. When she gained consciousness after a long time, she realised that she was molested. The doctor was arrested following a complaint by the victim’s husband and remanded to custody, the inspector said.
