VISAKHAPATNAM: Rich tributes were paid to police martyrs who laid their lives while on duty, on the occasion of the Police Commemoration Day here on Friday. Policemen in large number, including the senior heads, officials from legal fraternity, VUDA, Indian Coast Guard and a few others took part in the programme organised at the Beach Road.

The police recalled the services of the police martyrs and honoured their family members.
The policemen from Visakhapatnam commissionerate took out an impressive parade on the occasion.
District sessions judge V Jayasurya recalled the services of men in khaki and their role, which is becoming challenging with every passing day. He also said that many had laid down their lives.
He added that this was the reason why we pay our respects to the martyrs and honour their family members.

Visakha Range DIG CH Srikanth, city police commissioner T Yoganand, Rural SP Rahul Dev Sharma and a few others took part and paid tributes to the martyrs. The police honoured the family members of the martyrs.
The Day was also observed in Srikakulam town. A meeting was conducted by the police.
The department led by SP J Brahma Reddy took out a rally which proceeded from district police office to the Day and Night junction.Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram district collector Vivek Yadav,  SP LKV Ranga Rao and others paid tribute to the cops who laid down their lives on duty.
A meeting was organised at police barracks at Vizianagaram on the occasion.
