The Gajarla family tryst with the Naxal movement ended with the death of Gajarla Ravi alias Ganesh.

JAYASHANKAR DISTRICT: The Gajarla family tryst with the Naxal movement ended with the death of Gajarla Ravi alias Ganesh in the encounter on the AOB on Monday. Ganesh, a senior member of the Maoist party, was a representative of Maoist party during the peace talks with the then government in united AP.

Of the five siblings, four of the Gajarla family were associated with the Maoist party since decades.
Ravi (45) completed his high school in his native Velishala village of Chityala mandal in Jayashankar district. He dropped out of the college to join naxalite movement in 1991. His brother   Azad was also a key Maoist leader, who was killed in an encounter in Telangana a few years back.

Another brother Sarayya, surrendered to the police on health grounds. The second one Sammaiah is the only one who did not join the movement. He worked in Singareni Colleries and retired recently and settled in Hanamkonda.
 According to police,  Ravi was involved in the attack on Chandrababu Naidu at Alipiri in Tirupati in 2003.
