Two students drown in Suryalanka

GUNTUR: Two students drowned at the Suryalanka beach in Baptla while they were frolicking in the sea. Two other students were rescued by onlookers. According to the police, as many as nine students from both Vignan University and KL University joined at Vadlamudi and went to Suryalanka beach. Two students — G Pratyusha (18) and K Satyasai Prasad (18) — went deep into the sea and were caught amid tidal wave.  Two other students, P Kavya and K Sushma Priya, were rescued by the locals.

Pratyusha is from Narasaraopet town, while Satyasai Prasad is from Gorantla near Guntur. Pratyusha’s parents G Pavan Kumar and Jyothi, who rushed to Suryalanka. Upon knowing about the tragedy, they were inconsolable. Sushma Priya, who was rescued was shifted to a private hospital in Tenali for treatment. Kavya is admitted to the Bapatla hospital.
