Andhra CM elicits students' opinion on special package

VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday asked  Andhra university students whether he was right in accepting the special category package to the state given by the Centre. As the chief guest at the Andhra University Science College annual day celebrations here, Naidu asked the students to respond whether his decision was right.

After receiving mixed response from students, Naidu, recalling the statements made by the Opposition parties, said: “I’m not scared  of any high command. Public are my high command. Only problems scare me and I have accepted the package for the development of the state.”

Chandrababu Naidu said that due to some issues, the Centre had given the special package and it also agreed to bail out the state from the acute revenue deficit. On the railway zone, Naidu blasted the Opposition, saying that they had been doing malicious campaign. “Vizag has right to get the railway zone. The city has to get it and even today I spoke to Venkaiah Naidu about it. Do not give credence to false statements,” he said.

On the state’s development using Internet of Things (IoT), Naidu told the students that the world was witnessing the fourth industrial revolution. Naidu also said that the state had many problems and exhorted the youngsters to join hands with the government to develop the state.

Responding to the blistering attack made against him by the Opposition, the Chief Minister said, “I am not being cheated by any one. I know what I am doing. I also know what happens if I cross the Lakshman Rekha and speak. Moreover I never compromised when it comes to development of AP.”
