VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Power Generation company - APGenco bagged gold medal and its Managing Director K Vijayanand was honoured with International Icon Award in productivity and management, corporate sector and management categories.
The awards were presented at Indo-Malaysian Economic Cooperation Conference organised by the Institute of Economic Studies in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on Wednesday.
In his acceptance speech, Vijayanand attributed the credit to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and said with his cooperation and encouragement, energy sector in Andhra Pradesh is growing by leaps and bounds.
He expressed his happiness over their efforts bringing international repute to the State. He said APGenco stands first in the country in plant load factor maintenance.
Malaysia’s International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister YB Datuk Haji Ahmed Haji, India’s High Commissioner to Malaysia TS Tirumurti, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) member KS Nanda and others were present.
