ELURU: A burglar was arrested at Tanuku on Tuesday and gold ornaments worth Rs 8.86 lakh were recovered from him. Tadepalligudem Circle Inspector Chinta Rambabu told newsmen that Shaikh Ali Mohiuddin of Nidadavole committed several burglaries.
He used to burgle locked houses. He burgled a house at Velpuru recently and decamped with 39 sovereigns of gold ornaments, half kg of silver articles and Rs 40,000 cash.
A police team, led by SI G Srinivasa Rao and B Jagadeswara Rao, apprehended Mohiuddin while he was moving suspiciously at Sarmishta Centre in Tanuku. The accused was remanded when he was produced in court, the CI said.
