VIJAYAWADA: Director general of police (DGP) Sambasiva Rao flagged off a cycle rally, ‘Green Cyclo Than’ at Seethamma Vari Padalu on Friday. The impressive cycle rally was to create awareness about environment and health issues.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP Rao said that the cycle rally was organised to create awareness among the public regarding environmental safety measures. “This initiative is a noble cause as differently-abled persons were also taking part in it. Cycling helps people stay healthy and protects the environment as well,” he added.About 100 cops of the Andhra Pradesh Special Protection Force and paramilitary personnel started cycling from the city and will end their journey in Tirupati after five days.
