Rescue operations underway in Andhra's Guntur district after toddler falls into borewell

A toddler on Tuesday afternoon slipped and fell into a 100-ft deep bore well in Ummadivaram in Vinukona mandal here. Rescue teams have begun operations.

GUNTUR: A toddler on Tuesday afternoon slipped and fell into a 100-ft deep bore well in Ummadivaram in Vinukona mandal here. Rescue teams have begun operations.

The boy went near the abandoned, uncapped borewell while playing and fell in. Rescue teams are digging another parallel well and have fixed lights to facilitate rescue operations at night.

District Collector K Sasishdar rushed to the spot and issued instructions to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to take up rescue operations.
