Boy rescued from borewell after 11 hours in Andhra Pradesh

The boy slipped into the borewell in a field in Ummadivaram village in Vinukonda 'mandal' while playing near the pit.

GUNTUR: After battling for life for 11 hours, two-year-old A Chandrasekhar came out alive from an abandoned bore-well in Ummadivaram in Vinukonda Mandal in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh at 2.45 a.m. on Wednesday.

As soon as the news broke out, the village erupted in joy while his parents looked on in disbelief and relief.

A National Disaster Relief Force team played a key role in rescuing the boy from the borewell since 4 p.m. Tuesday night, after having a parallel well dug down to a depth of about 14 ft.

Interestingly, when the NDRF team reached the boy in the bore-well, he came out smiling. He was immediately taken to a waiting ambulance where doctors examined him and found that he was
alright.

The boy's mother Anusha said she was very thankful to the NDRF team, officials and others who worked tirelessly in rescuing her child. The boy's father Mallikharjun said he had to words to express his joy over his son coming back to them safe.
