Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission exams: Upper age limit increased to 42 years

In a good news to the Public Service Commission exams aspirants, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to enhance the upper age limit from the existing 34 years to 42 years.

VIJAYAWADA:   In a good news to the Public Service Commission exams aspirants, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to enhance the upper age limit from the existing 34 years to 42 years for the general category candidates. However, the relaxations will not apply to the candidates for the uniformed services.

An order issued by the government on Monday said the concession on the upper age limit shall be allowed to the categories as provided under the Rule 12 of the AP State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996. The age relaxation will be in force until September 30 next year.But, it will not apply to the posts in uniformed services like police, excise,  fire, prisons and forest departments for which the physical standards have been prescribed in the State and Subordinate Service Rules.The decision came after many candidates complained that they had lost the opportunities to apply for posts owing to delay in recruitment notifications.
