2 youths gunned down by Maoists near Vizag agency

Maoists gunned down two tribal youths at Maddigaruvu area of G Madugula police station limits in Visakhapatnam agency after branding them as police informers in the wee hours.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Maoists gunned down two tribal youths at Maddigaruvu area of G Madugula police station limits in Visakhapatnam agency after branding them as police informers in the wee hours of Saturday. Among the two youths, one was a mentally ill person and another a degree student. 
The deceased were identified as K Suryam (20) and M Kishore (18). The incident took place around 12.30 am-1 am on Saturday, just minutes after the concluding day of the 17th annual People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Week, which is generally observed from December 2 to 8.

According to the police, around 30 to 40 Red rebels entered Maddigaruvu village and took both Suryam and Kishore, whose houses are nearby, to the outskirts of the village. Police said that the rebels eliminated the innocent youngsters to show their presence. Among the deceased, Suryam was the mentally ill person and was discharged from the Government Hospital for Mental Care Visakhapatnam recently and Kishore was in a first-year degree course at Government Degree College in Paderu. The police are probing the incident.
