GUNTUR: A government hospital with super specialty facilities is getting ready at Tenali in Guntur district. The 150-bed hospital with modern equipment is nearing completion and will cater to the medical needs of patients from 18 mandals in Tenali division of Guntur district. The hospital is being constructed at a cost of Rs 15.5 crore to handle delivery cases from 18 mandals in Tenali division.
The government general hospital is serving the public of Guntur, Krishna and adjacent districts. But, there is no super specialty hospital for women and children. The mother and child super specialty hospital with six operation theatres and neonatal services will start functioning soon.
Social activist B Rama said that the absence of women and child hospital is forcing people to spend huge money to get treatment in corporate hospitals. APMSIDC EE Y Ashok Kumar said this is the first-of-its kind government super specialty hospital with six modern operation theatres, neonatal services, oxygen at bedside through central oxygen system, 122 beds for women and 28 beds for children, an elevator, a ramp, a generator, a kitchen and a dining hall. Tenali Government Hospital RMO M Sanat Kumari said the hospital is being constructed in 70,000 square feet.
