Follow rule of reservation in Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel: Legislative panel

The Legislative Committee pointed out that the recruitment in SVBC, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams propaganda arm, was a failure and the rule of reservation was ignored.

TIRUPATI: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Committee on SC Welfare conducted a review on TTD administration, recruitment and facilities to devotees, at Sri Padmavathi Guest House in Tirupati on Thursday. The Legislative Committee, led by Chairman T Sravan Kumar, pointed out that the recruitment in Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC), Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams propaganda arm, was a failure and the rule of reservation was ignored. Out of 253 posts, there were only three SCs, and the recruitment was done in 2008.

They also questioned outsourcing recruitment, out of 8,855 outsourcing staff, only 1,325 were SCs, that too at sweeper level. The committee strongly recommended recruiting Class 4 staff and junior assistants to fill the SC backlog. “We also coordinated with the State government for recruitment and mooted pressure to clear the SC backlog,” the Chairman said.Speaking on the occasion, Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal said there were 13,455 posts in TTD, but 3,708 were vacant. There was no single recruitment since 2010, and one of the reasons was a judicial direction.
