Tiger with two cubs spotted at Jamminagar Tanda in Velugodu, efforts on to trap wild cats 

Atmakur DFO Selvam assured the villagers of Jamminagar Tanda in Velugodu mandal on Thursday that teams from Tirupati and Markapuram had arrived to trap the tiger and its two cubs.

KURNOOL: Atmakur DFO Selvam assured the villagers of Jamminagar Tanda in Velugodu mandal on Thursday that teams from Tirupati and Markapuram had arrived to trap the tiger and its two cubs. A woodcutter, who sighted the wild cats, informed the matter to forest officials. The movement of tiger along with her two cubs was captured on trap cameras of the forest department.

The news of tiger sighting sent shivers down the spine of villagers of Jamminagar Tanda on Wednesday. 
About 100 trained forest staff are tracking the tiger movement, which had strayed into agriculture fields close to residential dwellings near Velugodu, the DFO added.The man-animal conflict in areas adjacent to forest lines in Kurnool district has been a issue of concern.
