NELLORE: The Gudur police have cracked a double murder case and nabbed 16 accused, including three women, and also seized two autos and knives used for the murder. The arrested included Poojari Somaiah, Dega Venkateswarlu, Dega Penchalaiah, Dega Chintalu, Dega Pedda Bommaiah, Anigani Polaiah, S Pedda Nagaiah, S Mani, S Nagabhushanam, D Venkataiah, D Vani, D Vijayamma and D Subbamma. Gudur DSP VS Rambabu disclosed the case details at the One Town police station on Saturday.
According to the DSP, Dega Narayana and Dega Ramaiah families, who stayed in the same colony, had animosity about rearing of pigs. Dega Chinna Jayaramaiah and Dega Pedda Jayaramaiah killed D Narayana on May 5 this year. A case was filed against the two brothers for killing Narayana on the version of Narayana’s kin. Group rivalries between the two were unresolved and the police asked Pedda Jayaramaiah and China Jayaramaiah to leave Indira Nagar. Subsequently, they shifted their families to Vidyanagar of Kota mandal. But, in the second week of this month, some unidentified persons set fire to the huts of these two brothers.
