Andhra University Japan Study Centre launches e-classroom

Funded by Mitsubishi Corporation, the e-classroom is fitted with a projector with touch screen system and various specifications cost Rs 1.5 lakh.

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Japan Information and Study Centre in Andhra University launched e-classroom on Monday for the students learning Japanese language.

Inaugurating it, Andhra University vice-chancellor G Nageswara Rao said, “There is good demand for foreign languages from the students. The department must make efforts to provide better facilities offering more foreign languages.”

The Rs 6 lakh e-classroom has been funded by Mitsubishi Corporation. The room is fitted with a projector with touch screen system and various specifications cost Rs 1.5 lakh. Besides the classes, Japanese films will be screened for easy understanding of the language by the students.

Creating Japanese cultural atmosphere, the room has been decorated with canvas cultural paints resembling their ancient historical things, including Sancahi Glazed Jar and writing box. These natsums, a container of powered team, dragons and tigers representing the masters of modern paintings of Japanese and six sets of paintings detailing various scenes of their gatherings.

“These paintings were specially brought from Japan and are fitted into canvas board, each costing of approximately `7,000-8,000,” said DVR Murthy, the director of Japan Information and Study Centre. 

“We would also soon bring `3 lakh worth books related to the Japanese language and history, for the library at the centre.

Knowing that there is demand for the management courses, we are planning to launch a six-month diploma course in Japanese management,” Murthy told  Express.
