VIJAYAWADA: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results for the civil services mains examination 2016 on its official website on Wednesday.
As of now, six students from Vijayawada have been selected in the UPSC main exam which was conducted from December 3 to 9, 2016 and made it to the final interview.

Two students K Tarun Moses and V Rose Mary had opted Anthropology as an option in the main exam and they say that the choice helped them in getting selected for the interview round. Speaking to Express, K Tarun Moses said that passion towards public service had made him opt for civil services.
“My family is my inspiration in the journey I undertook and they have supported me in my career. I am happy for getting selected in the UPSC main exam in my very first attempt. Now, I have to concentrate on the preparation for the interview round,” he added.

Apart from these two students, four other students comprising a girl and three boys have also made it to the next round of the selection process.
“Every year a good number of students from both Vijayawada and Guntur get selected in the UPSC main exam and also crack it at the interview level. Even this year, a large number of students had appeared for the Mains but seems like the selection number has come down compared to the previous year,” said Ravindra Babu, director of Nagarjuna IAS Academy.

The next step of the UPSC selection includes personality test and personal interview. The candidates are required to produce original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community and other documents such as questionnaire, attestation form etc. at the time of the personality test.
Personality test and interview of the selected candidates are likely to commence from March 20.
