VISAKHAPATNAM: Amid allegations being levelled by opposition parties that government is trying to protect the land mafia by ordering the SIT probe, two women from the city on Friday submitted a representation to police, accusing Telegu Desam MLA P Govinda Satyanarayana and his aides of harassing them to grab a piece of land. However, the police are yet to register a case. A woman and her daughter from Penduthi area represented to city police commissioner T Yoganand, alleging that they were being threatened by Anakapalle MLA and his aides to grab the plot on which they had built a house.

Sheikh Adambi, a resident of Rathicheruvu area who runs a small business at Pendurthi Junction, took a loan of `2 lakh from a local financier Ramana in 2015. Adambi claimed that that she had paid `6 lakh to Ramana till date, including interest. “I had signed an agreement while taking loan, but financier has forged documents and now is trying to grab my house and a small plot in survey no. 234/5B,” Adambi claimed.

The woman also informed the police commissioner that on Thursday, a group of men, all aides of Peela Govinda, and Ramana took her and and her daughter Sheikh Afraz to the MLA’s house. She also alleged that that the duo were confined to the house for a long time, attacked, threatened and abused by the MLA, Ramana and others.

“We were threatened that we would be killed and the land would be grabbed by the MLA,” Adami said, seeking police protection. Police commissioner T Yoganand said that he had forwarded representation to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order, Zone II) T Ravi Kumar Murthy who would look into case. Meanwhile, the MLA refused the allegations, but admitted that the two women came to their house on Thursday.
