Sub-Inspector, wife die as car hits roadside tree

Chintalapudi Sub-Inspector Saida Nayak and his wife died when the car in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree at Sitammacheruvu village in Lingapalem mandal on Saturday morning.

ELURU: Chintalapudi Sub-Inspector Saida Nayak and his wife died when the car in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree at Sitammacheruvu village in Lingapalem mandal on Saturday morning.
According to police, Saida Nayak (30) along with his wife Shanti (25) and daughter Princy left Chintalapudi in the ill-fated car to come to Eluru.

The SI was coming to the district headquarters for some work at the SP office. His wife accompanied him with their 17-month-old daughter to undergo a medical check-up at a hospital in Eluru. When the car reached Sitammacheruvu, Saida Nayak who was driving the car, lost control and it hit a roadside tree. Nayak died on the spot in the incident. Shanti who received grievous injuries in the mishap, died while undergoing treatment at  ASRAM Hospital in Eluru. The baby girl escaped with minor injuries. A case was registered. 

Saida Nayak, a 2012 Batch Sub- Inspector, hails from Ibrahimpatnam in Krishna district, while his wife Shanti belongs to Military Madhavaram village in Pentapadu mandal of West Godavari district. They got married three years ago. District SP M Ravi Prakash, Additional SP V Ratna, Special Branch DSP Bhaskar Rao, Jangareddigudem DSP J Venkatrao and Nayak’s batchmates expressed shock over the tragic demise of the young couple.
