Special police team to trace job agent

Torture of a city woman by her employer in Saudi Arabia coming to light, the Special Branch Police of Visakhapatnam has passed on the message to the Indian Embassy and MEA

VISAKHAPATNAM: With alleged torture of a city woman by her employer in Saudi Arabia coming to light, the Special Branch Police of Visakhapatnam has passed on the message to the Indian Embassy and Ministry of External Affairs. Having reportedly gathered the passport details of the woman, the police shared the information with the Embassy.

According to additional deputy commissioner of police (Special Branch) PV Ravi Kumar said that by Thursday night, they had established contact with the External Affairs Ministry, which will in turn contacted the Embassy officials of Saudi. 

The Special Branch police have also traced her husband, from whom they came to know that through one named Vani and then with an agent from Hyderabad, the woman Praveena had gone to Saudi Arabia. 

“A special team has been sent to Hyderabad after our preliminary investigation hinted that the victim went to Saudi Arabia through a Hyderabad-based agent Vasi Reddy. We are making efforts to trace the woman soon,” he added. It may be recalled here that Pedagantyada-based  Praveena had gone to Saudi for employment to support her family.
