CM Chandrababu Naidu rolls out doles to Nandyal ahead of Assembly by-poll

CM asks people to stand by him in his fight against forces that are coming in the way of development; says he’ll develop Nandyal better than Kuppam.

KURNOOL: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday unveiled a slew of projects for the development of poll-bound Nandyal. Naidu said that he would transform Nandyal into a metropolis. Speaking at a public meeting at SPG grounds in Nandyal on Saturday, Naidu doled out goodies to different sections including Muslims, SHG women and the poor. 

A three-bedroom house for journalists and infrastructure development in Nandyal are some of the projects that were announced by Naidu. The CM said that he would develop Nandyal even better than his own constituency, Kuppam. The CM said he has already given more funds for Nandyal than Kuppam. Amid cheers, Naidu asked people to stand by him in his fight against forces that are coming in the way of development.

He appealed to the people of Nandyal to bless him. Cautioning people against wily politicians, Naidu said they will use all sorts of baits to win people’s hearts. He asked people to keep away from such politicians whose only plan is to thwart the government policies. They will whip up passions based on caste, creed and community. He said that his only ambition is to serve the poor and he was very satisfied with his endeavours.  


New bridge 
Stating that he did an aerial survey of Nandyal town on Friday morning, the CM sanctioned `7.33 crore for constructing a bridge over Kundu river. He said that he would develop the area surrounding Kundu river, Chamakaluva and Maddileruvagu into major recreational spots.


3BHK flat for journos 
The Chief Minister also announced the plan to build three-bedroom houses for journalists in the State. The decision was taken after ceding to the long-standing demand of journalists’ associations, he said. 
Earlier, the CM inspected de-silting works of Chamakaluva. Later, he also inspected desilting of Kundu river and participated in bhumi puja of a housing colony. He also interacted with self-help group women in the SRBC colony. The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for CC roads in Kanala, Chintakunta, Julepalle and Pasulapadu villages in Nandyal Assembly segment in the evening. 


Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy, Ministers Bhuma Akhila Priya, Kalva Srinivasulu, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, C Adinarayana Reddy, P Narayana, N Amarnath Reddy and other leaders were present at the public meeting.

Byreddy arrested before CM’s arrival
 Kurnool:
Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi president Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy was arrested on Saturday ahead of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit and kept at Panyam police station, sixteen km away from Nandyal. The preventive arrest was necessitated as police perceived he would obstruct the CM’s meeting at SPG ground in Nandyal town. Along with him, his followers, most of them students, were also detained up by the police.
