HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh MLC G Deepak Reddy, advocate Sailesh Saxena and goldsmith R Srinivas, arrested for land grabbing, were produced in court here on Wednesday and remanded in 14-day judicial custody. They were accused of creating fake sale deeds and filing petitions in courts claiming government and private lands as theirs.

DCP Avinash Mohanty said one Mohammed Ali had bought 600 yards of land from GPA holder of the legal heirs of late Rahmat Khatoon. The registered GPA was given to SK Mahboob Ali and late Tajuddin to sell 9 acres at Bojagutta in Asifnagar.

“After buying it Mohammed realised that it was surplus land and moved the HC. Some persons — Iqbal Islam Khan, Shakeel Islam Khan, Srinivas, Thimumal Reddy and others — filed a writ and secured status quo order by submitting bogus documents. They also filed a case in a land grabbing court in the name of Harinath Rao in 2004. These are accomplices of Saxena,” the DCP said.

The impersonator confessed that he impersonated as Iqbal Islam Khan and signed on fake documents.
