Fishermen who drifted off to Paradip rescued

All the seven fishermen of Parlovpeta in Kakinada urban mandal who went missing were rescued at Paradip on Thursday morning. District Collector Kartikeya Mishra told mediapersons here that the fishermen ventured into the sea for fishing in a boat bearing No IND-AP-E3-MO-1260 on May 31.

KAKINADA : All the seven fishermen of Parlovpeta in Kakinada urban mandal who went missing were rescued at Paradip on Thursday morning. District Collector Kartikeya Mishra told mediapersons here that the fishermen ventured into the sea for fishing in a boat bearing No IND-AP-E3-MO-1260 on May 31. Due to engine failure in deep sea, the boat drifted away towards Paradip. 


The crew members of a fishing boat operating near Paradip went to the rescue of the fishermen of Kakinada after noticing the distress signals they had sent. They were taken to the coast and provided food. 
 The rescued fishermen include Meda Srinu, Surada Raju,Tiridi Appa Rao, Pottu Tata Rao, Vadamudula Jagadish and Chintapalli Aggipetti. 


A team of officials from the fisheries and revenue departments went to Paradip to bring the rescued fishermen to Kakinada safely, the Collector said.   Meanwhile As the southwest monsoon has set in, rain triggered by the upper air cyclonic circulation lashed the north costal Andhra districts on Thursday.   Several places in the other parts of the state too recorded rainfall.
