NTR Sujala water plant getting ready 

 District Collector Kona Sasidhar on Saturday inspected the works of a water plant taken up at Venkatayapalem in Thullur mandal under NTR Sujala scheme.

GUNTUR: District Collector Kona Sasidhar on Saturday inspected the works of a water plant taken up at Venkatayapalem in Thullur mandal under NTR Sujala scheme. The drinking water scheme taken up by NTR Trust, will be inaugurated on June 20. It will supply purified drinking water to 29 villages in capital region Amaravati. 


This is the second protected water scheme taken up by the NTR Trust in Andhra Pradesh. It has already executed a protected water supply scheme at Kuppam in Chittoor district. It will take up another drinking water scheme at Vinukonda in Guntur district. 


As part of the scheme, purified water will be supplied to villages through pipelines from the main plant. The villages will store the water in tanks. People can draw 20 litres of drinking water at `2 by swiping a card. 


Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) Commissioner Ch Sridhar, Guntur Rural SP K Narayana Naik, Joint Collector M Venkateswara Rao and other officials also accompanied the District Collector during his visit.
