Ex-Osmania University college principal to try luck in politics

Two years after making it to the headlines by unsuccessfully contesting Warangal Lok Sabha seat, Prof Gali Vinod Kumar, has once again decided to push his luck in politics.

HYDERABAD: Two years after making it to the headlines by unsuccessfully contesting Warangal Lok Sabha seat, Prof Gali Vinod Kumar, has once again decided to push his luck in politics. This time, by resigning as the principal of the PG College of Law, Osmania University.

Prof Kumar who served the law college for five years will be now be floating a party that will fight for the rights of the South Indians. “It’s a front that will have intellectual people. It will have two arms - South Indian Federal Front and South Indian Cultural front,” he said. Activists like Gaddar and some other politicians are likely to a part of Prof Kumar’s party.

“After serving the college for five years I have done my bit there. Today it is one of the top law college of the country. Now my services are needed in political front,” he said.
Besides consolidating the southern states, the front will focus on issues like getting special status to Andhara Pradesh, special package to Telangana, establishment of Supreme Court in Tamil Nadu and UPSC in Karnataka, among the other things. Prof Kumar has also made it clear that he will be contesting the 2019 polls for an MP seat. Though the official announcement of the parties will be done in September when a South Indian Leadership Meet will be held, talks are on with literary and intellectual persons to be a part of the front.
