BJP MLC attributes his Andhra Pradesh poll victory to Modi wave

MLC elect from North Andhra Graduate Constituency attributed his victory to the charisma of Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

VIJAYAWADA: MLC elect from North Andhra Graduate Constituency P V N Madhav has attributed his victory to the charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu.

The graduates of North Andhra have affirmed their support and faith in the BJP-TDP alliance once again, Madhav said.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Madhav said that his father P V Chalapathi Rao's clean image also helped him win the election.

It is for the first time that the BJP is winning an MLC seat after reconstituting the AP Legislative Council in 2007.

On the less number of first priority votes for him, he lamented that 11,519 votes were invalid which led to the counting of second priority votes.

The BJP government at the Centre would soon announce the railway zone with Visakhapatnam as head quarters, he claimed.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu's choice to the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh was a strategy and he would soon announce the railway zone, Madhav said.

A large number of leaders and party workers congratulated Madhav upon his arrival at the BJP state office.
