Muzaffer Ali appointed as first V-C of Kurnool Urdu university

Prof K Muzaffer Ali has been appointed as  the Vice-Chancellor of Dr Abdul Haq Urdu University in Kurnool.

VIJAYAWADA: Prof K Muzaffer Ali has been appointed as  the Vice-Chancellor of Dr Abdul Haq Urdu University in Kurnool.

Prof Ali will be the first vice-chancellor of the Urdu University, which was inaugurated in August 2016. At present, he is working as  professor at the University of Hyderabad.

Ali has started his career as assistant professor at Islamiah College  in Vaniyambadi of Tamil Nadu. He has also worked as associated professor in Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in Tirupati. 

A native of Kadiri in Anantapur district, Prof Ali did his post graduation in Urdu from SVU and doctoral degree from the University of Madras on 'Metaphors in Urdu Ghazals'.

He bagged SUV's meritorious teacher award in 2000. He was also given lifetime achievement award in 2009 by the Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy.
