VISAKHAPATNAM: The two-decade-old Dalit tonsure case of Venkatayapalem in East Godavari district involving Ramachandrapuram MLA Thota Trimurthulu came up for hearing at the SC /ST Special Court (Prevention of Atrocities), in Visakhapatnam on Monday. 


Justice KV Nageswara Rao heard the versions of the first victim and eyewitness Koti Chinna Raju. 
The court has given a schedule from May 8 to May 12, and both the victims of alleged forcible tonsure, Koti Chinnaraju and Dadala Venkataratnam, will be examined by special public prosecutor Y Sujatha and cross examined by defense lawyer KV Rammurthy. 


The main accused in the case, Ramchandrapuram MLA Thota Trimurthulu, victims’ parents, the village elders of Venkatayapalem and investigation officers of the case will also be examined during the trial. 
The Ramchandrapuram MLA was present at the court on Monday. 
The court trials are going to be conducted till May 12.
