Visakhapatnam officials told to form task force to boost vigil

There would be a review meeting on the road accidents and discussion on third Tuesday of every month, collector Pravin Kumar said here on Wednesday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: There would be a review meeting on the road accidents and discussion on third Tuesday of every month, collector Pravin Kumar said here on Wednesday. 


Reviewing the road safety scenario in the district here, the collcetor instructed all the officers associated with police, RTA and other wing to attend the meetimg without fail.  


The collector also asked the officials to constitute task force teams to check on road safety. 
He asked the government officials to make sure their drivers wear seat belt.

Pravin Kumar also instructed the R&B officials to set markings and radium signs on the national highway to check the road accidents.

The excise officials were told to clear the liquor outlets on the NH, without necessary permission.

RTA deputy commissioner S Venkateswara Rao said that this year as many as 32,700 cases per taining to violation of road safety norms have been registered by the RTA. 

Later, he asked officials of various departments to name people to form committees.
