Tajangi gangrape case: 15-day remand for three gangrape accused

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam police arrested three accused persons in the Tajangi (Chintapalli mandal) minor tribal girls gangrape case. Korabu Veera Venkata Varun alias K.Varun S/o K.Angadha Rao aged 21, Challangi Sravan Kumar aged 22, and Mamidi Hari Govinda Prasad, 26, were arrested and produced before the media on Thursday at Chintapalli Police Station.

DSP Anil Pulapati narrated the incident in detail. Basing on the complaint we registered a case under the POCSO Act and other related sections and started investigation. We deployed teams to nab the main accused and at last we are able to arrest the three accused on Thursday.” Varun surrendered before the police while the remaining two were caught and arrested by the police on a tip-off.

According to the victims and their blood relatives, two of the accused, Varun and L Siva Nagendra alias Siva S/o Ganesh kumar were the key offenders.

After producing in Chintapalli- first class Judicial magistrate court, the Judge remanded them to 15 days judicial custody. Later, police shifted the three accused to the Visakhapatnam Central Imprison.
