VISAKHAPATNAM: TTDP leaders are quite confident of emerging victors in 2019 elections.
For the past three days, Telangana TDP leaders on the stage and off the stage of Mahanadu highlighted the sufferings of people in general, farmers and students in particular, due to the ‘failure’ of the TRS government to implement its poll promises.

Md Tajuddin of Karimnagar, who represents the TDP state minority cell, said the TRS regime is distancing itself from people by ignoring fulfilment of its election promises. On the other hand, the TDP is getting closer to people by championing their cause.

“It is there for them when they need the help, both moral and financial. We are doing what we can by means of monetary help by bringing pressure on the government through protest demonstration to extend aid to the needy,” he said.

Tajuddin is confident that the TDP flag will fly high on Telangana Assembly in the coming years. “Why not. We have been there for the people always. Though others might claim otherwise. The TDP still has a dedicated vote base of 30 to 35 per cent in villages and it is swelling now,” said E Mallesham, Telangana TDP general secretary.

He rubbished the results of recent survey by the TRS government as cooked up and pointed out the tremendous response to Telangana State TDP Mahanadu held last week. “Our cadres are swelling and existing activists are firmly with the party, though the leaders who enjoyed power and got elected on the TDP ticket jumped the fence with selfish agenda,” he said.

Mallesham said fighting for the cause of people is their true strength and people are aware of it. “We will definitely form the government in TS in the coming years,” he asserted. His opinion was echoed by B Mallaiah Yadav, another State-level party functionary in Telangana.

When pointed out that the TDP is not being allowed to speak in Telangana Assembly, TDP Sathupalli (Khammam) MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said: “If we are not allowed to speak in  the Assembly, we can always speak anywhere in the State and champion the cause of people and get their problems addressed.”

Venkata Veeraiah is confident that people of Telangana are realising who is truly concerned about them and the TDP is becoming powerful again in state.
