Complete construction of Agriculture University: Left leaders

The CPI, AP Rythu Sangham and other organisations staged a protest demanding completion of construction works of Agriculture University at Lam Farm in Tadikonda mandal of Guntur district.

GUNTUR: The CPI, AP Rythu Sangham and other organisations staged a protest demanding completion of construction works of Agriculture University at Lam Farm in Tadikonda mandal of Guntur district on Thursday. The State government laid the foundation stone for the construction of Agriculture University in 510 acres of land on November 16, 2015. The agitators said that despite having sufficient funds, the State government failed to take up construction works of AP Agriculture University. 

CPI State joint secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao demanded that the government take up the construction works of university on a war footing. He said the State government had spent only `16 crore, out of `135 crore sanctioned by the Centre for construction works. He also demanded that the government allocate 500 acres of land for agriculture research centre in Amaravati. CPI district secretary J Ajay Kumar also spoke. Later, the leaders submitted a memorandum to University Registrar T V Satyanaranara.
