KAKINADA : Mystery shrouds the death of 20-year old Nandula Jaya Deepika, daughter of  TDP Ramachandrapuram town president Nandula Raju. She was found murdered in her house on Tuesday.
Around 1:30 am, when Raju and his son Jaya Prakash returned home from the restaurant which they own and manage, they found Deepika lying in a pool of blood. She had wounds on her head, neck and hands. Alarmed, the father-son duo shifted her to Area Hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead. On being alerted, police visited the hospital and also their house in Thotavarai Street.

Ramachandrapuram Circle Inspector S Sridhar Kumar said the body had been sent for postmortem and only when the report is released can they tell how she was murdered and how many were involved. Whether she was raped or not is also to be confirmed.

According to sources, the young woman reportedly had an affair with Kunapareddy Manikanta. Her father and brother were opposed to the relationship and had warned the two. It is learnt that Manikanta and another person were taken into custody for questioning. Speculation is rife that Deepika may have been murdered by her own family as she didn’t part with her partner.
