Chandrababu Naidu extends all support to US IT firms; 450 Non-Resident Telugus agree to invest in AP 

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has assured all cooperation to the IT companies coming forward to set up their shops in Andhra Pradesh.

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has assured all cooperation to the IT companies coming forward to set up their shops in Andhra Pradesh.During his interaction with representatives of various IT companies in the United States of America on the first day of his eight-day tour, he attended a meeting in Chicago on Wednesday.

Most of the representatives of 80 IT companies who attended the meeting were Telugu people settled or working in the USA. All of them showed keen interest to be part of IT sector development in the State. IT Taskforce chairman Garapati Prasad made a presentation on IT City on the occasion.
The Chief Minister explained his vision to see Visakhapatnam and the new capital city Amaravati emerge as major IT hubs. He assured to create necessary infrastructure facilities in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada in next one year for IT companies to set up their units.

Around 450 Non-Resident Telugus in the USA have shown their interest to invest in Andhra Pradesh, while 100 companies have shown interest to have an MoU with Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board. The Andhra Pradesh government has set itself a target to ensure at least 500 IT companies set up their units in the State in next 12 months.Meanwhile, Chicago State University chairman and department of mathematics and computer sciences head Prof Rohan Athela held discussions with the Chief Minister.
He invited Chandrababu Naidu to the 150th anniversary celebrations of the university and its graduation ceremony (convocation)  to be held in May next year.

On the occasion, Rohan promised to share his knowledge and expertise in Dynamic Cyber Security programme with the universities in Andhra Pradesh.On the other hand, TANA (Telugu Association of North America) representatives who met the Chief Minister expressed their interest to construct TANA Bhavan in Amaravati with an investment of two million USD and requested for necessary land.
They said TANA has been involved in conducting 5K Run in 20 cities in the USA and the proceedings will be used for development programmes in Andhra Pradesh.
