IT Minister meets Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai, seeks investments in State

VIJAYAWADA: Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh, who left for Mumbai on Thursday on a two-day visit, called on Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani and requested him to invest in AP. Lokesh, who is set to deliver a keynote address in the Food and Agri Investment Summit - 2017 to be held in Mumbai on Friday, also met several industrialists to attract investments for the State.

During his meeting with Mukesh Ambani, Lokesh explained the facilities being extended by the State government to investors. He also explained the steps being taken for construction of Amaravati capital city and also the new policies adopted by the government for development the of information technology and industries in the State and invited Mukesh Ambani to invest in the development of AP. Responding positively, Mukesh assured to extend support for the development of the State. Lokesh also met chief executive officers of several IT companies and banks and explained the IT policy brought out by the State government.

Stating that the AP government is passing approvals and expediting the process of land allocation for those coming to invest and generate employment in the State, Lokesh explained the incentives being given by the State government.Representatives of several IT companies and banks assured to come up with plans to set up their units in AP.
