Over 2,000 candidates qualify for AP State Eligibility Test 2017

As many as 2,229 candidates have qualified for the AP State Eligibility Test (APSET )-2017, with a total pass percentage of 6.9 percent.

VISAKHAPATNAM: As many as 2,229 candidates have qualified for the AP State Eligibility Test (APSET )-2017, with a total pass percentage of 6.9 per cent. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao released the results at a meeting held in Andhra University here on Monday. As many as 32,289 candidates including 1,373 male and 856 female had written the examination in 31 subjects conducted at six regional centres on July 30. The pass percentage is more than last year and the results were finalised as per the UGC guidelines and were approved by the moderation and steering committees of the APSET on September 20. The results are available on http://apset.net.in

“In the first phase, recruitment will be done for 1,104 professor, associate and assistant professor posts, including the 237 vacant posts in Andhra University. The notification will be released by the month-end. After the first phase, 281 more posts will be filled in the second phase,” said the Minister after releasing the results.  Ganta further said that plans were afoot to introduce grading system in the academics. With a total of 1.2 crore students from KG to PG, this system will help bring down the suicide cases. “As all the students’ data are being updated, we are are planning to get Aadhaar linked biometric system in all schools by next academic year,” he said.
