‘BJP claims on utilisation certificates baseless’, says Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana

Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana has said that the State government had submitted the utilisation certificates (UCs) pertaining to the construction of capital to the Centre periodically.

VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana has said that the State government had submitted the utilisation certificates (UCs) pertaining to the construction of capital to the Centre periodically.

The minister said that the funds were released only after the Niti Aayog made recommendations in line with the UCs submitted by the State government.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the ongoing infrastructure development works in the capital city on Tuesday, the Municipal Minister said that there was no basis for the claims of BJP leaders regarding utilisation certificates. “Those criticising us can get the utilisation certificates directly from the Centre,” the minster said.

Talking about the progress of the infrastructure development in the capital city, he said the State government would begin construction of the proposed IT towers and Amaravati Civil Courts soon. He added that works related to 280 kms of the 320-km roads in the capital were underway. The contractors informed the minister about the schedule of the works. Narayana instructed the contractors to expedite the works so that they will not be affected during the monsoon season. CRDA commissioner Cherukuri Sreedhar was  present.
