It’s a ‘420 fast’ to cheat people: YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy

Pooh-poohing Chandrababu Naidu’s one-day Deeksha for Special Category Status (SCS) on his birthday on April 20, YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy termed it a '420 fast' status.

VIJAYAWADA: Pooh-poohing Chandrababu Naidu’s one-day Deeksha for Special Category Status (SCS) on his birthday on April 20, YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy termed it a '420 fast' status.

Addressing a large public gathering in Mylavaram of Krishna district during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Krishna district on Tuesday, Jaganmohan Reddy described the exercise as yet another attempt to deceive people.

“Naidu deliberately ignored the opportunity when he did not agree for the resignation of his MPs. If all the 25 MPs from the State had quit en masse and went on indefinite fast, the impact would have been different. Now, he wants to go on a day’s fast seeking SCS which is ridiculous and absurd,” he said.

He reiterated that Chandrababu Naidu has been heading a government, which is mired in corruption. “The king of corruption and his ministers have a single-point agenda of looting public money and they have left no stone unturned and left no avenue without exploiting it to the hilt,” he said cited some examples of contractors being favoured by his government.

Jaganmohan Reddy said none of the promises made by the TDP chief has seen the light of the day. “Though he has promised to close down belt shops, he did not act on that but has gone to the extent of giving permission to set up mini-beverages which shows what his priorities are,” he said.

The YSRC chief urged the people to use their discretion while giving the mandate in the next election and teach the corrupt Chief Minister a fitting lesson. Naidu deliberately ignored the opportunity when he did not agree for the resignation of his MPs.
