VIJAYAWADA/GUNTUR: Asserting that his government will continue its fight until getting funds from the Centre, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that getting Special Category Status (SCS) is the right of Andhra Pradesh and there is every need for the Centre to accord the same to the State. Addressing the members of ‘Sadhikara Mitras’ at his residence in Undavalli on Wednesday, Naidu said that the State bifurcation was not done properly and the promises made in the AP State Reorganisation Act have not been fulfilled.

Stating that the State should get the Special Category Status, he said that his government agreed the special package only after the Centre’s assurance of extending all benefits and even more that the State would get through the SCS. But, it was not materialised so far and the State did not get any benefits for the last three years, he averred.

Reiterating that the 125-year- old Congress party lost its presence in the Sate as it committed historic mistakes in the State bifurcation, he said that the responsibility of fulfilling all the commitments lies on the Centre and it should do justice to AP.

Meanwhile, Health Minister and BJP leader Kamineni Srinivas ruled out chances of alliance between BJP and YSRC in the future. He inspected the AIIMS construction works at Mangalagiri of Guntur district on Wednesday.

He said he is ready to resign from the State Cabinet if such a situation emerges and added that he had already prepared a resignation letter by putting his signature and same was handed over to his PA to submit to the CM’s office if he is not available or out of station as per the directions of BJP high command.

He said the BJP state president and MP K Hari Babu’s statement about Central funds allocation to AP by BJP is true and the BJP allocated funds as promised during the bifurcation of AP. He stated the AP people voted to the BJP- TDP alliance and the State is developing as the BJP-led Union government sanctioning funds to  the State. He also expressed hope  that the BJP-TDP alliance will continue in the coming general elections in 2019.
